Ted Belledin
has studied music for the majority of his life. He started with
piano lessons in preschool and moved to saxophone in early grade
school. After high school, he attended the Eastman School of Music in
Rochester, NY where he earned a B.M. in Saxophone Performance.
He then spent another
year in Rochester, studying philosophy and playing locally. Ted
decided to pursue a career as a philosophy professor and was accepted
by the Arizona State University Philosophy Graduate Program, where he
earned an M.A. in Philosophy. He continued playing all the while,
spending three years with the Azz Izz Band. After three years of
teaching philosophy at the college level, he decided to refocus on music.
Ted now freelances all over Arizona and is a regular member of the
Shining Star Band and a frequent musician at the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences.
Some of the bands and musicians he has collaborated and/or shared the
stage with include: Azz Izz, George Bowman, Mel Brown, Extreme Decibel Big
Band, Shawn Johnson, Diana Lee, Jodi Light, Jesse McGuire, Mario Mendivil, Joe Morris, Ray Reindeau, Walt
Richardson, Sherry Roberson, Dennis Rowland, Leon
Santiago, Shining Star Band, Sister
Sledge, Greg Warner, Raul Yanez, and many others.
