Ted Belledin

Born in Memphis and raised outside Philadelphia, saxophonist Ted Belledin earned his Bachelor’s degree from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY. In addition to saxophone, Ted also plays piano and clarinet, composes, arranges, sequences music, and records in his home studio.
In 2018, he launched NOLAZ Band, a project celebrating the groove and soul of New Orleans music, covering artists from Allen Toussaint and Jon Cleary to Galactic and The Meters. After nearly 30 years in Phoenix, Ted is now based in San Diego and regularly travels between the two cities to perform.
He can often be seen on stage with groups such as Band Overboard, Neon, Obadiah Parker, AJ Odneal, Stanley Serrano’s The Desert Rose Project, Mick Adams and The Stones, Mel Brown and Friends, and the 524 Brass Band, among others.
Over his career, Ted has shared the stage with a wide range of artists, including Papa John DeFrancesco, Jesse McGuire, The Temptations, Dennis Rowland, Lea Cappelli, Francine and Margo Reed, Ola Gjeilo, Bad Cactus Brass Band, Khani Cole, Rachel Eckroth, The Sugar Thieves, Azz Izz, and many others.
His studio work includes saxophone and keyboard contributions on albums by Paris Toon and Mother’s Favorite Child, Pete Gitlin, Brian Chartrand, Dennis Rowland, Azz Izz, and The Trophy Husbands. Recent recordings include projects by Obadiah Parker and the Hallowed Ground, Lo Wren, Cal Harris Jr., Jay Allan, and Josh Weinstein.
